THE PROGRAMS

Not three subjects. One system that builds an independent learner.

Most places would sell you a writing class, a speaking class, a reading class. We built something different: literacy, communication, and leadership taught as one connected thing — because that’s what actually turns a child into an
independent learner. The programs below are doors into that system, not separate products.

THE INTEGRATED SYSTEM

Why a writing tutor alone was never going
to be enough

Writing sharpens thinking. Thinking needs a voice. A voice needs somewhere to lead. Teach
them in isolation and each stays small — teach them together and they compound into
independence. That connection is the whole point.

1

Literacy

Reading as thinking; writing as the tool that shapes it.

2

Communication

That thinking, put into a voice others can hear.

3

Leadership

A voice with somewhere to go — ownership, and leading others.

THE FOUNDATION

Parent partnership

We train you, resource you, and share your child’s progress continuously, so the growth continues at home.

↻  Each pillar feeds the next

INSIDE THE SYSTEM

Three pillars, and the foundation that holds them up

You’ve seen how they connect. Here’s what that actually looks like week to week — exactly
what your child will do.

PILLAR 01

Literacy

Reading taught as thinking; writing and grammar as tools a child can use on anything they actually want to say.

IN CLASS, YOUR CHILD WILL

Read real literature, essays, and articles closely — annotating for argument, evidence, and the choices a writer makes.

Write across real forms — story, persuasion, analysis — and revise draft to draft on honest live feedback.

Learn grammar in the moment it’s needed, inside their own writing — never as isolated worksheets.

Build vocabulary from what they read, and defend an interpretation of it out loud.

What develops: a child who can read something hard, make real sense of it, and write something true enough to be understood.

PILLAR 02

Communication

Literacy out loud — what they’ve read and written, put to work in the real world.

Week to week, your child will

Speak every session — from quick daily shares to prepared talks in front of the group.

Pitch an idea and defend it, taking real questions from peers and teacher.

Join Socratic discussions — building on, and respectfully challenging, each other’s thinking.

Lead a book talk — present something they’ve read and run the conversation about it.

How confidence is built: small, low-stakes reps every single session, until speaking up stops being frightening and becomes ordinary.

Pillar 03

Leadership

Ownership and responsibility, built  - through real roles and projects a child carries and owns.

OVER A TERM, your child will

Take rotating roles — Leader and Co-Leader who open the session, keep time, and guide their peers.

Carry a project from idea to finished outcome over weeks — a published book, a podcast, or a showcase talk.

Own their own goals — setting them, tracking them, and reflecting honestly on the result.

Give and receive kind, honest feedback within the group.

What develops: a child who steps up without being asked, and takes real ownership of what they make.

THE FOUNDATION

Parent partnership

Everything above rests on you — so we build you in from day one. Most places quietly leave
parents out. We do the opposite.

IN PRACTICE, THAT MEANS

A one-to-one onboarding conversation before your child starts — so we understand them fully, not just their grade level.

Parent guides for each unit, so you know what’s taught and how to reinforce it at home.

Progress updates at the end of every unit — not a single end-of-term report.

A direct line to your child’s teacher whenever you need it.

A rare thing to build a program around — and the reason the change actually lasts.

AN HONEST WORD ON FIT

We’d rather be honest about fit than right for everyone

The families who thrive here tend to want the same thing we do. So it’s worth being plain about who this is — and isn’t — built for.

This is built for you if…

✓

You want your child to become a genuinely independent learner — to think, read deeply, and write and speak with confidence.

✓

You care about the whole child — character, ownership, and voice — not just the next report card.

✓

You’re a homeschool family wanting a real literacy, communication, and leadership core you don’t have to build alone.

✓

You want to be a partner in the growth — kept in
the loop, not handed a bill and left outside.

It’s probably not the right fit if…

—

You’re looking only for quick homework help, or a
fix for one tough assignment this week.

—

You want to raise a single grade this term and move
on — a real need, just not what we build.

—

You’d prefer to hand your child off entirely and stay
outside the process.

—

You’re after a faster shortcut than the real, patient work of building a thinker takes.

If the left side sounds like you, you’ll feel at home here — and you’re exactly who we built this for.

WHY IT MATTERS NOW

You’re not raising a test-taker. You’re raising a person who’ll work beside machines that can already write.

Human skills win

As AI takes over the mechanical parts of writing and analysis, the skills that stay scarce are the human ones: judgment about what’s worth saying, a voice people want to listen to, and the confidence to lead. A child who thinks clearly and speaks with conviction isn’t made less valuable by capable machines — they’re made more valuable. That’s exactly what teaching literacy, communication, and leadership together is built to grow.

Grades follow capability

We don’t chase grades directly, because a grade is a symptom, not the cause. Build the underlying capability — a child who can read something difficult, structure a real argument, and express it clearly — and stronger grades tend to follow almost as a side effect. Chase the grade alone and you get a number that fades the moment the help is removed. We build the thing the grade is only trying to measure.

Independence, not
dependence

The quiet test of any program is simple: over time, does your child need it more, or less? Ours is built to make itself less necessary — a child who starts their own work, thinks their own thoughts, and carries their own projects. That’s the opposite of a standing weekly appointment a family never seems able to stop. Independence is the outcome we actually optimize for.

Let’s find the right door in for your child.

HOW THE SYSTEM FITS TOGETHER

How do the programs fit together?

They’re three doors into one system. Each program leads with a different pillar — writing, speaking, or reading — but enhances all three together, on the same cycle and the same philosophy. A child in the Writing Program is still growing their reading, voice and leadership; the emphasis just starts with the writing.

Do we have to do all three?

Many families start with one and add another as their child grows — but that’s a choice, never a requirement.

Which program should my child start with?

Today, the Writing Program is the one that’s open. On a discovery call we’ll confirm it’s the right fit and the right level before anyone commits.

What ages and grades is this for?

Our programs are built for grades 5–8, the years when independent thinking and a real voice take shape. We’re expanding toward a full 1–12 pathway over time, but this age is where we go deepest today.

Is this a fit for homeschool families?

Yes — wholeheartedly. Homeschool families are some of the families this serves best. The programs slot in as the literacy, communication, and leadership core of your week, with the parent partnership built right in, so you’re supported rather than left to piece it together alone.

How is this different from tutoring or a single-subject class?

A tutor or a single-subject class fixes one thing, often for one term. Our system builds a whole independent learner — literacy, communication, and leadership together, with parents brought in — so the change compounds and the child needs less help over time, not more. The integration is the difference.
