The Phonics Program

The Phonics Program is your child’s first confident step into the world of reading and writing.
Grades: 1 – 3 | Duration: 6–8 Months | Format: Small Group (10 Students)

Child learning early phonics, decoding, and blending skills through a research-based literacy program.

Children learn to decode, blend, and spell words through fun, multisensory, and hands-on learning experiences. Every sound they master builds their fluency, every word they decode boosts their confidence.

Built on the Science of Reading, this program is designed for early readers who need to build a strong foundation in phonemic and phonological awareness — the connection between sounds, letters, and words.

Because a child who can read fluently, writes fearlessly — and learns independently for life.

Student practicing letter sounds, phoneme-to-grapheme mapping, and functional phonics routines.
Teacher guiding a Grade 1–3 student in phonemic awareness and early reading confidence at The Learners Pathway.
Montessori-inspired phonics materials helping children build strong decoding, blending, and fluency skills.

Expected Outcomes

By the end of the Phonics Program, your child will:

Parent supporting early reading at home using phonics-based routines that strengthen confidence and fluency.

Read with fluency and accuracy — moving from simple CVC (2–3 letter) to 10–12 letter words.

Develop a joyful relationship with reading — feeling proud, capable, and excited to learn.

Build automaticity in decoding and blending unfamiliar words.

Gain confidence in writing short sentences and reading storybooks independently.

Improve spelling accuracy and begin enjoying spelling challenges like Spell Bee.

Strengthen comprehension through oral reading, dictation, and visual decoding routines.

Recognize, read, and write all major phoneme patterns (consonant blends, digraphs, vowel teams, diphthongs, and silent patterns).

Our student went from being shy and unable to read three-letter words to confidently reading words like “metamorphosis” — in just eight weeks.

What’s Covered Inside

A research-backed curriculum that makes reading and spelling intuitive, joyful, and lasting.

Your child will master the following modules:

01

Letter Recognition & Sounds

Students learn to recognize and produce sounds of individual letters through tactile, visual, and auditory methods — using songs, movement, and play.

02

Digraphs, Blends & Vowel Teams

Kids learn complex sound combinations like ch, sh, th, ai, ea, and oo — the building blocks of multi-syllable reading.

03

Phoneme Rules

Children discover how sounds change meaning — practicing rules like silent “e”, soft “c” and “g”, double consonants, and more.

04

Handwriting & Word Formation

Proper letter formation, spacing, and sentence writing — reinforcing the link between reading and writing.

05

Reading Comprehension (Intro Level)

Gradual exposure to short storybooks and comprehension exercises — answering who, what, when, and why questions.

06

Reversal Correction & Syllable Division

Special focus on students reversing letters (b/d, p/q) or confusing similar sounds — with kinesthetic, visual, and sound-mapping drills.

07

Read-Aloud & Expression

Students build fluency and confidence through group reading, echo reading, and expressive storytelling.

Program Features
